About JESSICA THORPE

 
 

Jessica Thorpe is an Emmy award-winning public relations strategist and founder and CEO of Thorpe Communications. She most recently served as the Head of Communications for Michelob ULTRA! at Anheuser-Busch overseeing public relations strategy and execution for the brand’s marketing, sports, entertainment, corporate, and philanthropic efforts, and holds the record for leading the highest performing PR campaign in the company’s 175-year history with Super Bowl LVII.  In addition, Jessica spearheaded the development of Michelob ULTRA’s $100M commitment to women’s sports, positioning the brand as an early advocate of increasing visibility of female athletes.

Prior to joining Anheuser-Busch, Jessica led public relations for Verizon’s marketing, multicultural and corporate social responsibility efforts. During her tenure, she designed culturally relevant communications programs and experiences that forged a stronger relationship between Verizon and multicultural audiences. She is the creator of #Freestyle50, an award-winning integrated marketing campaign that intersected technology and hip-hop, in partnership with 300 Entertainment. The campaign was ranked as Verizon’s top performing communications initiative in 2016 and 2017 and demonstrated increases in sales and social engagement year over year.

In her early career, Jessica held several positions at top public relations agencies including Weber Shandwick, Lipper Taylor and Law Media Group where she spearheaded communications strategies for leading brand clients including Unilever, InterContinental Group, Siemens, Fisher-Price, Josh Cellars, Taylor and Nescafe Dolce Gusto amongst others. 

In addition to practicing public relations, Jessica is an Adjunct Professor at Georgetown University where she teaches a course on Innovations in Marketing Communications.

Jessica holds a Master of Arts degree in Public Communications from American University and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Television Production from Howard University.
